The rich culture of the natives determines the cultural heritage of a place. Their richness of culture is reflected not only through their art and music but also their clothing and jewellery. It’s marvelous how these primordial tribes made fashion happen at a time when the human race was only grasping the meaning of progress. Today, designers from all over the world are taking inspiration from the blueprints they left behind.
The earthy designs, metallic texture and vibrant colours are what tribal fashion is famous for. The bold prints in highly eye catching colours set this fashion genre apart from the rest. Sometimes we sport tribal fashion without even realizing it. Animal prints, geometric shapes, threadwork, weaves, bead work and ethnic designs all come under the umbrella concept of tribal fashion.
This season, tribal fashion is all about weaves and prints. The Burberry 2012 men’s collection has a host of outfits in prints inspired by the Aztec and American Indians. Donna Karan’s collection for women’s tribal fashion is based on a dark palette and relaxed patterns that make it wearable during the summer. Paul and Joe’s odd prints in vibrant colours were also a hit with the women.
Donning tribal fashion can be quite tricky and it is absolutely important to keep certain things in mind in order to do full justice to the style. For example, if your tribal outfit is brightly coloured and printed, then the only other thing that you’d need to complete the look is a pair of sexy sandals. If you intend to wear rustic tribal jewellery, then maybe that bright top should wait. If tribal outfits seem too loud for you , you can still incorporate the tribal element into your ensemble by sporting a bag or belt in tribal design.
